At ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ, getting involved in research isn’t just for grad students—it’s part of the undergraduate experience, especially if you’re studying math, science or pre-medicine.
91% of math and science students pursue research or creative endeavors as early as their first semester.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ’s Undergraduate Research Office will help you find research opportunities, provide mentorship and assist with funding. Every semester, the office celebrates what students accomplish through their research at the Intersections undergraduate poster session, where student researchers present their findings to the university community.
You won’t have to look far for opportunities—there are research teams ready to welcome you, including at the School of Medicine, and the nearby hospitals in CWRU’s neighborhood. If you want to go global, the Undergraduate Research Office and CWRU’s Office of Education Abroad can help you find research opportunities in other countries, too.
Thanks to all those hands-on opportunities, 96% of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ math and science graduates are in graduate or professional school, working full time or otherwise pursuing career goals within 6 months of graduation. 81% of CWRU undergraduates who applied to medical school (MD and DO) were accepted—well over the national average of 47%.
