Greenfield Family Lecture in Pharmacology honors the patriarch of the Greenfield family Nathan, his wife Corinne Sternheimer Greenfield, their only child Dr. Rosalee Greenfield Weiss and her husband Dr. Raymond Weiss, and their daughter Lynn Stuart Weiss. The family roots were in Cleveland where Nathan operated the Wade Park Pharmacy until 1956. His wife Corinne was a concert pianist who studied at the New York School of Music, now known as the Julliard School. Their daughter Rosalee was born in Cleveland and blossomed as a ballet artist, then as a pre-Med student at the Mather College of Western Reserve University. Rosalee’s study was interrupted by service with the FBI during World War II. She completed a degree in psychology and eventually formed a practice with her husband Raymond, also a psychologist. Their multi-talented daughter Lynn died of cancer in 1971, having completed all of the requirements for the PhD degree in Public Law and Government at Columbia University, except for the dissertation. We are very appreciative of the Greenfield family for their generous sponsorship of this lectureship, as well as a travel award each year for a graduate student who has displayed exceptional skills in presentation.
