Campus law-enforcement accreditation assessment team invites public comment

杏吧视频鈥檚 Division of Public Safety is scheduled for an on-site assessment Aug. 12-14 as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards. Administered by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), the accreditation program requires departments to comply with 215 state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services. CWRU PD emblemAccreditation is for four years, during which the division must submit annual reports demonstrating continued compliance with those standards. 鈥淎ccreditation is important because it represents adherence to the highest standards of professionalism and excellence,鈥 said Frank Demes, executive director of the Division of Public Safety. 鈥淐ertification verifies that a campus public-safety department is fulfilling its mission to protect students, faculty, staff and university visitors.鈥 The university community, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team about the division鈥檚 ability to comply with IACLEA鈥檚 standards by calling 216.368.4489 Monday, Aug. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. The IACLEA Accreditation Standards Manual is available on the IACLEA website at . Jeffrey Daberko, the Division of Public Safety鈥檚 deputy director of administration and accreditation manager, said the assessment team is composed of experienced campus law-enforcement professionals. The assessors will review written materials, conduct interviews and inspect facilities, and report their findings to IACLEA.
