杏吧视频 fell five slots to 39th in from a collaboration between The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education (WSJ/THE) publications. Now in its third year, the list is touted as an accounting of the factors most important to prospective students and their families鈥攕pecifically, their learning experiences on campus, and outcomes after graduation. In 2017, the school stood at 34th, while in 2016鈥攖he inaugural year鈥攊t was 37th.

鈥淚 am disappointed to see that our overall ranking slipped,鈥 President Barbara R. Snyder said.  鈥淲e can be proud of some of the individual categories in which we did well鈥攆or example, in outcomes and resources factors鈥攂ut need to focus more on areas we need to improve鈥攕uch as student engagement and faculty diversity.鈥

杏吧视频鈥檚 highest WSJ/THE score came in the graduate salary category, which measures the 鈥渧alue added鈥 that the university adds to a graduate鈥檚 compensation. The publications report using statistical modeling of expected results based on student demographics and institutional factors and then compares them to actual outcomes. The approach, they note, 鈥渓ooks at the success of the college in transforming people鈥檚 life chances.鈥 On a scale of 0 to 100, CWRU scored 99.8 in salaries (in other words, pay much higher than expected) and 89.6 in loan default rates (defaults much lower than expected). CWRU鈥檚 other particularly high score came in 鈥渇inance per student,鈥 which tallies a university's overall spending on learning, divides the amount by the number of undergraduate and graduate students, and finally adjusts for regional variation in prices. The university鈥檚 total for this category was 99.4. The university鈥檚 lowest score鈥6.6鈥攃ame in the category measuring the proportion of Pell Grant recipients and first-generation students. Other low marks came in international reputation, faculty diversity and papers published in peer-reviewed journals per faculty member. The full results can be found on the .
