On Nov. 5, the �Ӱ���Ƶ Law Review broke new ground with the digital pre-release of the first issue of this year’s review, volume 63. The new volume is redesigned from the ground up to support tablet reading and uses a font designed by alumnus Donald Knuth (CIT '60; GRS '60 mathematics). For the first time, print copies will arrive at the law school in time for the Law Review's annual symposium on Nov. 16. Alongside the digital pre-release, the Law Review also will release the second episode of its podcast series, “Below the Line,” on iTunes. The student-produced podcast features articles published in the Law Review and aims to generate and disseminate commentary on articles and offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the research process. On each program, the author offers a summary of the article and answers questions from the Law Review. In addition, the Law Review invites leading authorities in the relevant field of law to offer their commentary on the article. The second program, “Below the Line 63:1,” features Clay Calvert, the Brechner Eminent Scholar in Mass Communication at University of Florida, and his article, “To Defer or Not to Defer? Deference and Its Differential Impact on First Amendment Rights in the Roberts Court.” The program features commentary on the article by Harvard Law School Professor Mark Tushnet and Cornell Law Professor Steve Shiffrin.
