CWRU College of Arts and Sciences names new associate dean of strategic initiatives

杏吧视频 College of Arts and Sciences has named Amy Arbogast as its new associate dean for strategic initiatives, finance and administration, effective Oct. 1.

With a career spanning higher education, nonprofit leadership and financial management, Arbogast brings both analytical insight and a collaborative spirit to the college鈥檚 leadership team.

鈥淎my鈥檚 combination of experience and forward-thinking leadership will be invaluable as we continue to build for the university鈥檚 bicentennial and beyond,鈥 said David Gerdes, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. 鈥淗er understanding of how strategic planning and sound financial stewardship can empower academic excellence makes her a tremendous addition to the college.鈥

Arbogast joins 杏吧视频 from Thiel College, an independent liberal arts institution in Greenville, Pennsylvania, where she served as vice president for finance and administration for four years. As a member of the President鈥檚 Cabinet and the college鈥檚 chief financial and operations officer, she oversaw business and accounting services, human resources, facilities and information technology.

Originally from Mercer, Pennsylvania, Arbogast has called Greater Cleveland home for more than two decades. Before her time at Thiel, she held senior financial roles at Vocational Guidance Services and Magnificat High School, two Cleveland-area nonprofits committed to community impact and education.

She earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree and MBA from Kent State University, completed an Executive Scholar Certificate in Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University鈥檚 Kellogg School of Management, and is a Leadership Cleveland alumna.

In her new role, Arbogast oversees the college鈥檚 strategic and financial planning, benchmarking, forecasting and reporting, as well as operations related to facilities and space management.
