Online survey available; listening sessions taking place on campus Sept. 23-24
After nearly a decade since its last campus master plan was released, 杏吧视频 is launching a new planning initiative to shape the future of the university鈥檚 physical campus.
This new plan, led by campus master planning and design firm , will serve as a comprehensive guide for the physical evolution of campus, outlining a strategic road map for renovations, new construction, and other investments in campus facilities and spaces, ensuring development decisions support the university鈥檚 mission and vision.
鈥淭he campus master plan will guide the development of our campus over the next decade,鈥 said Dean Tufts, vice president for campus planning and facilities management, 鈥渙ffering clear guidance for how we use buildings, structures and open spaces to enhance the CWRU experience.鈥
The process
The campus master planning process comprises three parts:
- Understand: A discovery phase to uncover goals, aspirations, current challenges and opportunities for the future.
- Learn: Data and analysis phase, which culminates in testing of potential ideas and solutions.
- Explore: Based on the previous phases, SmithGroup will create recommendations for improvements and document the campus master plan in a final report.
Individuals from across the university are involved in campus master planning committees and will work directly with SmithGroup throughout each phase.
Sharing your input
Phase one is officially underway today, as SmithGroup has to provide updates on the master planning process. In addition, they鈥檝e launched where members of the CWRU community are encouraged to provide feedback on their most-used areas of campus, areas of opportunity for the university, safety concerns, pedestrian traffic and more.
Today (Sept. 23) and tomorrow (Sept. 24), SmithGroup will hold a series of open forums and pop-up sessions to hear feedback from students, faculty and staff directly.
