CWRUbotix, 杏吧视频鈥檚 robotics team, competed in the 22nd annual MATE ROV World Championship, hosted in Kingsport, Tennessee, in June. In this competition, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are deployed underwater to perform various tasks related to ocean observation and developing systems to combat climate change.
This year, CWRUbotix scored 5th place among the 29 competing university class teams from around the world with their robot, 鈥淪cuba Dooba Tuba: Electric Beluga.鈥 This robot was built entirely in-house at Sears think[box], with custom machined components, electronics, and software.
Now, the team aims to score in the top three in the next world championship. They have already begun planning for the next competition season, with a focus on refining the design of 鈥淪cuba Dooba鈥 and creating engaging design projects for new members.
