September marks National Campus Safety Awareness Month and National Preparedness Month. At ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our campus community—and throughout this month, The Daily will highlight a few of the many ways the university works to achieve this. Over the summer, ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ unveiled a new, free safety app: Rave Guardian. The app replaced CWRU Shield.
Rave Mobile Safety, the same company through which the university sends emergency alerts, created the app.
The app’s key functionality includes:
- A two-button call from the app to give campus security officials access to an individual’s profile information and current location for quicker and efficient response.
- A safety timer and the ability to designate friends or family members as "guardians." So, when you're going for a walk or doing another outdoor activity, your "guardians" will be alerted if you don't make it to your destination or deactivate the timer.
- The ability to anonymously share tips to campus safety officials and chat with dispatch.
- Push notifications in the event of an emergency.
- Access to resources, such as mental health and wellness, Safe Ride, shuttle tracking, important safety numbers and website and more.
Individuals can download the app on the and .
