Cleveland Plain Dealer: Christian Zorman, an associate dean for research at Case School of Engineering, and Grant Goodrich, the executive director of the Great Lakes Energy Institute, lent their expertise to the news that the Columbus area has landed a new semi-conductor chip manufacturing facility. Zorman said that semi-conductors can be found in virtually every electronic component of our lives. And at a manufacturing facility, the chips can be made by the thousands. Goodrich said the availability of affordable electricity, and an abundance of water made Ohio attractive to Intel, who plans to build the new plant.
