Seed grants to enhance internationalization are now available to faculty members at �Ӱ���Ƶ. The awards, offered through the Center for International Affairs, are available up to $7,500, and the Center for International Affairs will work with recipients to secure additional external funding, as necessary. “The faculty are the real drivers of the internationalization effort at �Ӱ���Ƶ, and we hope that these grants provide them the support that they need to develop new programs,” said Molly Watkins, director for international affairs. Academic year 2011-12 is the inaugural year of the seed grants; if successful, and as funds are available, the program will be repeated annually. Examples of the kinds of expenditures eligible for support include:

• The development and implementation of sustainable faculty-designed and -led education abroad programs
• The development and implementation of sustainable international research projects involving undergraduate students
• The development of long-term international partnerships that will increase the international student population at �Ӱ���Ƶ and/or provide study abroad opportunities for students
• The development of sustainable programs to support the international student population and promote international endeavors at �Ӱ���Ƶ
• The development of new international and cross-discipline curricula

Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the quality of the proposed project and its relevance to the international efforts at �Ӱ���Ƶ. All proposals are welcome; those that are interdisciplinary or have a plan for sustainability are particularly encouraged.
