As fall semester classes begin today, college experiences for the members of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s undergraduate Class of 2028 are officially underway. But before they got to this moment, they had a full week of preparation—from to gathering for the to getting .

Discover Week brought our newest students plenty of opportunities to get to know our campus—and each other. Now, it’s our turn to learn more about them. before reviewing this by-the-numbers look at our exceptional new class.

Who they are

  • 1,575 new students
  • 63 different languages spoken at home
  • 10% had a relative attend CWRU
  • 13% are the first in their families to go to college

Where they’re from

  • 1,086 high schools
  • 26% from Middle Atlantic states
  • 7% from New England
  • 13% from the Midwest
  • 8% from the South

  • 12% from outside the U.S.

What they do

  • 79% volunteered in the community
  • 63% played a sport
  • 51% were involved in the arts
  • 51% worked a part-time job or cared for a family member
  • 20% were involved in student government
