The Short. Sweet. Film Fest. strives to showcase the best local, national, and international films from up-and-coming filmmakers. What better way to watch independent cinema then in the stunning Alex Theater at the Metropolitan at the 9 while enjoying a cool beer or cocktail with some delicious food?
***All patrons must show proof of vaccination before entry. Please show your vaccination card or a clear photo of the card on your phone when checking in at the box office***
A health assessment and temperature check will be taken at the box office. Patrons who do not pass the health assessment or have a fever (temperature of 100 degree F or higher) will be refused admission. Patrons are required to wear a mask at all times unless they are actively eating or drinking. Refunds will not be granted to patrons who fail to present proof of vaccination, wear a mask, fail the health assessment, or have a fever and are refused admission.
Wednesday, February 23 - Opening Night, doors open at 6:00pm and films will run from 7:00-10:00pm, followed by a Q & A with filmmakers and a filmmaker's networking/social event.
Thursday, February 24 - Student Filmmaker's Night & Short. Sweet., doors open at 6:00pm and student films will run from 7:00-10:30pm, followed by a Q & A with filmmakers and a student filmmaker's networking/social event. The Short. Sweet. = is a program that shows select films in a reduced sensory environment.
Friday, February 25 - Local Filmmaker's Night, doors open at 6:00pm and films will run from 7:00-10:00pm, followed by a local filmmaker's networking/social event.
Saturday, February 26 - Comedy, Animation, Music Videos, Virtual Reality, films featuring Animals, LGBTQ, Drama, and Horror, doors open at 10:00am and films will run from 11:00am-11:00pm, followed by a filmmaker's networking/social event. From 11:00am-2:15pm we will have Program 1 (Comedy + Animation), 3:00-6:15pm Program 2 (Comedy + Music Video), 7:30-10:00pm Short. Sweet. + (LGBTQ + Discussion) and 7:00-11:00 pm Program 3 (Horror + Drama).
Sunday, February 27, - Local Filmmaker's Matinee, Documentary, Best of the Fest, and the Short. Sweet. Film Competition. doors open at 10:00am and films will run from 11:00am-10:00pm. From 11:00am-2:15pm we will have Program 1 (Local) then from 3:00-6:00pm Program 2 (Local + Documentary) and lastly we will all the films apart of the Short. Sweet. Film Competition 7:00-10:00pm
