WKYC: Atiba Ellis, the Laura B. Chisholm Distinguished Research Scholar and professor of law, said he was 鈥渟hocked but not surprised鈥 by the Supreme Court's ruling that banned the use of race in college admissions. 鈥淭his ruling fulfilled the long legacy of Chief Justice John Roberts and this court鈥擩ustice Roberts was using this rhetoric as far back as 2007, (when he said) that the only way to stop discriminating on the basis of race was to stop discriminating on the basis of race,鈥 Ellis said. 鈥淪o we鈥檝e seen this decision coming for a long time.鈥
