Law’s Eric Chaffee says Cleveland wage laws could help rebuild middle class if strongly enforced

Signal Cleveland: Eric Chaffee, professor and the Peter M. Gerhart Distinguished Research Scholar at the School of Law, said Cleveland’s tougher wage and pay transparency laws, if enforced, can “lift people up” with little economic power by punishing bad actors and deterring others. He emphasized that meaningful, long-term change requires consistent enforcement to expand the city’s struggling middle class.
