Law's Eric Chaffee warns about rejecting settlements

U.S. News & World Report: Eric Chaffee, the John C. Hutchins Professor of Law, said judges are increasingly scrutinizing settlements. “There is an inherent tension between pursuing justice and securing benefits for harmed parties,” he said, warning that the quest for a perfect outcome could leave plaintiffs with nothing if litigation ultimately fails.
