Op-Ed | September 30, 2022 | Story by: Editorial Staff

In a recent op-ed, Erik Jensen, the Coleman P. Burke Professor Emeritus of Law, discussed the proposal to repeal the $10,000 cap on the deduction for state and local taxes.

Published in The Wall Street Journal and titled “SALT-Cap Repeal Is Pushed for the Few, Not the Many,” shared insight into the movement for a tax cap.

“The income tax now reaches many more of us, but the SALT deduction today benefits only those who itemize deductions—always a minority of taxpayers,” he wrote. “The rest of us can’t rely on the SALT deduction.”
