The Chopra Lab at the Harrington Discovery Institute is looking for a motivated individual to hire as a lab manager. An example of the lab's work is the discovery of asprosin, a hormone that controls appetite and glucose levels, that was made possible by clinical examination of patients with mutations in a gene never previously associated with such processes. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in biology or chemistry (or biological science) or in business. Some lab experience is preferred.
Responsibilities: We are looking for a self motivated individual who has strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities. Responsibilities will include tracking important lab reagents from a list provided and order when stock is low; maintenance of mouse lines with the help of junior trainees; responding to any mouse husbandry emergencies and perform necessary actions; assisting with protocol amendments and ordering reagents weekly; tracking lab finances
Work Hours and Benefits: This is full time in person position located in Cleveland, OH. The lab manager usually works 8-hour shifts (9am-5pm), 5 days a week. This is a salaried position. More information can be provided upon interest.
