The WSOM and the Center for Family Business will offer two new family business courses in Spring 2025. These two courses are back-to-back, 1.5 credit hour courses that will meet on Mondays from 3:00-5:45 PM in PBL 05
• MGMT 320/420 Introduction to Family Businesses 1/13-3/3
o How do family businesses differ from non-family businesses in philosophy, ownership structure and succession
o Ways to navigate the unique opportunities and challenges in their evolution
• MGMT 321/421 Complexities of Family Businesses 3/17-4/28
o Understanding roles, expectations and balancing of stakeholders
o What to consider before working in a family business
There are no prerequisites and while the two courses build on each other, each can be taken individually. Both will include family business guest speakers.
The instructor is , Clearstead, Senior Managing Director of Trust Administration Services and author of Preserving Multigenerational Wealth.
