Oberlin College faculty member to present on Cleveland urban agriculture Dec. 11

The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) at 杏吧视频 will continue its seminar series with a presentation by Rumi Shammin, associate professor of environmental studies at Oberlin College. Under a grant through the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Shammin has conducted a triple-bottom-line analysis of urban agriculture in Cleveland that combines past studies, primary analysis and field surveys to generate an estimate of the qualitative and quantitative values added by repurposing vacant lands for growing food. Shammin鈥檚 presentation, titled 鈥渁 Triple-Bottom-Line analysis of the Value of Urban Agriculture in Cleveland鈥 will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11, from noon to 1:15 p.m. on the ground floor of the BioEnterprise Building. A light lunch will be provided. The PRCHN seminars are held from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.
