Psychiatry’s Stephen Levine: One in five socially transitioned children later reverse course, study shows

The Economist: Stephen B. Levine, clinical professor of psychiatry, discussed a new study that found that one in five children who socially transition later reverse course. Levine said the findings highlight “the complexity of identity development” and stress the need for cautious, individualized support rather than assumptions about permanence in childhood transitions.
