About the film

Shoplifters, Kore-eda’s latest feature, is a touching, humanistic tale of a three-generation family of thieves—a crime movie full of charm, humor, suspense and surprises.

The film was the winner of the top prize at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and a 2019 Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film.
