Sears think[box] recently worked with Jacob Scott, a Cleveland Clinic physician-scientist and CWRU faculty member, to invent a new device that uses very high-power UV-C light to decontaminate N95 masks in just 60 seconds. This innovation has been selected as a finalist in MIT's 2020 Global Challenges and Indigenous Communities Fellowship.
Selected from more than 2,700 solutions from 135 countries, the team's innovation was one of 90 finalists. Members of the CWRU community can vote for the solution, One-Minute N95 Decontamination, in the Health Security & Pandemics Finalists category.
