For the first time in over 18 months, the CIM Orchestra returns to Severance Hall to perform on the stage of the most beautiful concert hall in the world—Severance Hall—for Carlos Kalmar’s inaugural appearance in his new role as principal conductor. The program opens with Šerkšnytė’s Fires – she gives us permission to interpret the piece using any of its title’s indirect meanings; impassioned and mesmerizing come to my mind – followed by Beethoven’s dashing Fourth Symphony and closes with Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances.

This performance will be held Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. at Severance Hall.
