Making Your First Map
In this workshop, attendees will receive a general introduction to GIS (geographic information systems) and ArcGIS (v10.2) software. Attendees will learn how to explore geographic data, symbolize categorical and quantitative data, label map features and make a map layout. This course is limited to 18 participants.
This workshop will take place Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Basics of Making a Research Poster
This workshop covers basic design and assembly of a research poster. Attendees will be presented with guidelines to help think about the information to be conveyed, and its visual presentation and layout. First-time poster makers and those looking to improve their design skills are encouraged to register for this class. Time will be available after the presentation to discuss specific questions about a poster or using Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
This workshop will take place Thursday, Nov. 21, from noon to 1 p.m. or 4 to 5 p.m.
Introduction to SPSS
In this course, attendees will receive a general introduction to SPSS (v21) geared toward individuals who want to learn how to use SPSS for basic statistical analysis. Topics include: working with and defining variables, running basic statistical tests, creating frequency distributions, measuring central tendency and dispersion, calculating standard scores and creating basic graphs and scatterplots. This class is limited to 10 participants and will take place Thursday, Dec. 5., from 2 to 5 p.m.
