The Cleveland Museum of Art offers a unique program of international performances through its Performing Arts Series. CWRU students are invited to take advantage of the PAY WHAT YOU CAN student discount. On the day of each performance, students can purchase tickets by naming their price in person. Offer depends on availability and applies to performances taking place in Gartner Auditorium (at the Cleveland Museum of Art) only. Valid student ID required. Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, Mar 4, 2 p.m. Student ticket FREE Enjoy chamber works by Henrik Hellstenius, Xue Ju, and Kaija Saariaho, featuring special guest Norwegian violinist Peter Herresthal. CIM Organ Studio, Mar 11, 2 p.m. FREE, no ticket required Outstanding conservatory musicians from the Cleveland Institute of Music in the studio of acclaimed organist Todd Wilson present an afternoon recital of works for solo organ on the museum’s McMyler Memorial Organ. Wu Man with Huayin Shaddow Puppet Band, Mar 21, 7:30 p.m. Pipa virtuoso Wu Man joins the brilliant Huayin Shadow Puppet Band for an evening of old-tune traditional music with shadow puppetry. Tallis Scholars, Apr 13, 7:30 p.m. Leaders of Renaissance sacred music, the vocal ensemble performs "War and Peace," a program commemorating those who lost their lives in World War I. Chamber Music in the Galleries, Feb 7, Mar 7, Apr 4, May 2, 6 p.m. FREE, no ticket required Young artists from the Cleveland Institute of Music and CWRU's early and baroque music programs present mixed repertoire ranging from the standard to unknown gems and the museum's collections for a unique and intimate experience - and they often feature instruments from the museum's keyboard collection.
