Student tickets available for tomorrow’s William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage Series event featuring Colson Whitehead

The 2017-2018 William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage Series kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 6, with an appearance by best-selling author Colson Whitehead. Colson Whitehead is the author of six novels, including the No. 1 New York Times best-seller The Underground Railroad, for which he received the 2016 National Book Award for Fiction; John Henry Days, for which he received the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award; and Apex Hides the Hurt, for which he received the PEN/Oakland Award. His reviews, essays and fiction have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The New YorkerNew York Magazine±á²¹°ù±è±ð°ù’s&²Ô²ú²õ±è;and Granta. Whitehead is a past recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship. Whitehead will speak Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center at The Temple – Tifereth Israel. A free shuttle will be available to transport ticketed guests to the Maltz Performing Arts Center, departing from the Linsalata entrance of the Tinkham Veale University Center. A limited number of free student tickets will be available in person beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Students can show their ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ ID at the Tinkham Veale University Center’s first floor information desk to obtain a ticket to that evening’s event.
