The 2018-19 William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage Series will conclude Wednesday, May 1, with an appearance by award-winning author Jennifer Egan.

The event will take place Wednesday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center at The Temple–Tifereth Israel. A free shuttle service will run from Tinkham Veale University Center to the event.
A limited number of free student tickets are available to pick up anytime between now and the day of the event at the Tinkham Veale University Center’s first-floor information desk. Students must show their ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ ID to receive a ticket.
In addition to the lecture, students can participate in a discussion with Egan Monday, May 1, at 4 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center Gaming Room. Register for the discussion through the .
About the speaker
Egan has written five novels, including:
- The Invisible Circus (1995), which was adapted into a film starring Cameron Diaz;
- Look at Me (2001), a finalist for the National Book Award;
- A Visit from the Goon Squad (2010), for which she won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Critics Circle Award; and
- Manhattan Beach (2017), for which she won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction.
Egan’s short stories have appeared in The New Yorker, ±á²¹°ù±è±ð°ù’s, Granta and ²Ñ³¦³§·É±ð±ð²Ô±ð²â’s among other publications. Also a journalist, she has written frequently in The New York Times Magazine—most recently about pregnancy and childbirth among opioid-dependent women. She is the president of PEN America and an artist-in-residence at the University of Pennsylvania.
