Those at ӰƵ are invited to participate in Gestalt Experience Weekend, an opportunity to foster interpersonal connections across campus through guided discussions and activities.  At this event, participants will explore how individuals communicate, relate and build authentic relationships with others during two workshops, which will take place:  Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Similar to previous workshops, which took place earlier this spring, these workshops will be led by two expert facilitators from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, which includes Kathy Clegg, associate professor of psychiatry at the School of Medicine and psychiatrist at University Hospitals of Cleveland.  These free workshops—sponsored by the Department of Philosophy’s Beamer-Schneider Professorship in Ethics—will take place on campus at the former HIllel Center (11291 Euclid Ave.), located near Clark Hall on Mather Quad. They are renowned in their respective fields and have contributed remarkable service to our institution. This annual effort allows us to appreciate all of our peers as we highlight some of the most exceptional among them. On the Distinguished University Professor website is a formal account of the criteria, the process involved in the selection process, and a list of previous recipients.    We are privileged to be in a place full of so many talented and dedicated faculty members. As you consider colleagues to nominate this year, I encourage you to be mindful of those individuals who represent the breadth of our campus faculty community.    The dean of each school and college determines how members of the faculty are nominated and may have already begun sharing details about their process. We look forward to seeing the thoughtful selections that emerge from across our schools and colleges.    Thank you in advance for taking the time to reflect upon your peers’ qualities and accomplishments. I look forward to receiving the final nomination packets.    Joy K.
