Volunteer at the Elementary Science Olympiad

At the Elementary Science Olympiad (Division A, 4-6 graders), students from area elementary schools compete in science and engineering events captained by teachers, CWRU faculty, staff, students, and alumni. This event is modeled after the national Science Olympiad competition.

Volunteers are needed for this event, scheduled to take place March 5.

The following volunteer positions are available:

  • Event Captains: Olympiad volunteers prepare events, develop appropriate tests, arrange for supplies if appropriate, set up event venue, execute and manage events, and score test
  • Event Support: Assist Captains with event set up, execution, management, and scoring.
  • Headquarters: Sign in registered teams, assist with scoring, support events in various venues, collect test results

Total Time Commitment Requested: Captain test preparation before event date (variable depending on complexity of event), Event set up and tear down day of event, Execution, Scoring Awards Ceremony attendance not required but welcomed
