          Helen L. Long, PhD, CCC-SLP joined the Communication Sciences Program in the Department of Psychological Sciences as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2024. Dr. Long is a certified speech-language pathologist through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Her research investigates early speech and communication development in children with neurodevelopmental conditions including cerebral palsy and autism. She uses clinical and translational research methods to work to improve early identification and targeted intervention strategies to enhance childhood communication outcomes.
