This talk will explore why policy matters for child researchers now more than ever, some of the significant issues at the federal level that impact children and families, and how researchers can engage. Special guest, Juan Romero-Casillas, Policy Manager at the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), will lead this presentation, sharing context on the key players in D.C. and some of the current issues most relevant to child well-being and child-focused research. Mr. Romero-Casillas will also share how SRCD has launched a "Child Policy Hub" to inform child researcher members and identify non-partisan strategies for effectively leveraging research expertise to impact child policy.
