Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit

Megan Buchter is the Executive Director of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit at �Ӱ��Ƶ’s Weatherhead School of Management. In this role, she leads the Fowler Center’s strategic vision and global programming, advancing the mission of business as a force for positive change in society.

Under her leadership, the Fowler Center has expanded its international reach through initiatives such as the AIM2Flourish program—an award-winning platform featuring more than 5,000 student-written stories of business innovations for good—and the annual Flourish Prizes, which celebrate enterprises creating positive global impact. She also spearheads the Center’s student-focused initiatives, including the ThinkImpact Social Entrepreneurship program, the Impact Investing Competition, the Venture4Impact pitch competition and the Business for World Benefit Clinic, all designed to prepare the next generation of leaders to tackle pressing global challenges.

An experienced educator and facilitator, Megan teaches courses and delivers workshops on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, Appreciative Inquiry, sustainability and ESG consulting, and experiential learning, both at �Ӱ��Ƶ and in global platforms. She has presented at international conferences including the PRME Global Forum, the AASHE Global Conference, and the World Appreciative Inquiry Conference, and is recognized as a leader in advancing sustainability and positive business education.

Megan holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management, where she received one of the inaugural Fowler Family Fellowship recipients, and a BA in Economics from �Ӱ��Ƶ. She is a Certified Carbon Literate professional, a Kolb Experiential Learning Profile Certified Facilitator, and has earned a certificate in Appreciative Inquiry for Positive Business and Society Change.

With a passion for inspiring action at the intersection of business and social good, Megan continues to champion innovative programs and partnerships that position Weatherhead and the Fowler Center at the forefront of global conversations on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and business as an agent of world benefit.

Marcella Kanfer Rolnick is Vice Chair of GOJO Industries, market leader in professional skincare and inventor of PURELL Instant Hand Sanitizer. Marcella focuses on diversification of her family's enterprise through new ventures and strategic planning to meet the long-term vision. She champions the GOJO commitment to social, environmental and economic sustainability, a commitment that is driven by the GOJO purpose: saving lives and making life better through well-being solutions. Throughout her career, Marcella has performed numerous other roles within the company, including establishing the e-business practice and launching new markets. She also was a management consultant in New York City, vice president of business development for a multi-media nonprofit in Boston, and an associate at a boutique investment firm in San Francisco.

Marcella is passionate about facilitating organizational effectiveness and innovation, especially within the Jewish nonprofit community. She drove the reconstitution of the national Jewish social entrepreneurship fellowship program, Joshua Venture Group, and co-founded the Lippman Kanfer Institute for Innovation in Jewish Learning and Engagement at JESNA. She is President and Chair of the Lippman Kanfer Family Foundation, and is a director of American Jewish World Service, the Jewish Community Board of Akron and The Lippman School. She recently spearheaded a community-wide Appreciative Inquiry process called Imagine Jewish Akron” to envision and plan for a positive future for the local Jewish community.

In 2008, Crain's Cleveland Business named Marcella one of Forty under Forty” [who make a difference]; Cleveland Jewish News named her one of 20 On the Rise” Cleveland area professionals; and she received the Woman of the Year” Award for Innovation by the Women's History Project of the Akron Area. In 2006, Marcella was named by Jewish Women International as one of 10 Women to Watch.”

Marcella earned her MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and her BA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Affairs at Princeton University. Marcella currently resides in Akron with her husband and three young sons.

Beau Daane is a Duke-educated corporate sustainability and real estate professional with over 15 years of experience in leadership roles across multiple sectors including publicly traded companies in the travel and mining industries. At Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE: NCLH) (2020) and Covia (NYSE: CVIA) (2013-2019), he worked with executive management and at the board level to identify, manage and report on high impact sustainability topics. At the same time, he also ran a private real estate development company focused on rehab projects in Cleveland's renaissance neighborhoods, leveraging low acquisition costs, tax incentives and reduced rate financing to build a successful portfolio. Beau completed his MBA at �Ӱ��Ƶ in 2012 and his certificate in Appreciative Inquiry in 2013. Beau served on the board of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy for ten years, served on the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland for three years, and enjoys fitness, gardening, tutoring and advancing lgbtq equality.
