Majors: Data Science and Engineering
Minors: Religious Studies, Mathematics, and Computer Science
Why did you choose this area of study?
I chose to study Data Science and Analytics because I enjoyed mathematics and computer science, and I wanted to explore the intersection between these fields. Additionally, data science has wide applications to many disciplines. My studies have allowed me to perform research in important areas, such as climate change, using data science techniques.
What is your favorite thing about engineering?
Engineering is a creative endeavor in my opinion. I love the innovation that this field contains, where people devise novel solutions to arising problems and apply their knowledge in new ways every day.
Why did you choose CWRU?
I chose CWRU because of its proximity to arts and cultural centers, such as the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Natural History Museum. I loved the feel of the small campus in the city and the ease of accessibility to other parts of Cleveland. The opportunities at CWRU are also incredible.
Were you involved in activities outside of class?
I was on the executive board of the Undergraduate Diversity Collaborative for two semesters. I joined UDC's executive board as Vice President of Campus Initiatives in order to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion among students at CWRU. I also aimed to bridge communication gaps between students and faculty. I have also been Editor-in-Chief of LUX, CWRU's undergraduate Yearbook, for the past two years. This has been an incredibly rewarding creative experience for me as I get to engage in graphic design while also crafting a lasting memory for CWRU students.
What's your thing about CWRU, or favorite memory?
My favorite memory at CWRU is definitely experiencing the total solar eclipse in April of 2024. I remember laying out our picnic blankets and watching as more and more of my dearest friends gathered around, grateful for the day off and excited to see the solar eclipse. I'm so glad I got to share that incredible experience with them!
What advice/encouragement would you like to share with current students?
Say yes! Try to be open to as many new opportunities as possible!
What are your plans after graduation?
I am continuing at CWRU through the integrated BS/MS program with a MS in Computer Science.
