For more than 25 years, communities have used asset-based community development (ABCD) as a strength-based approach to change. ABCD builds community from the inside out as residents become producers.
Asset mapping is a fundamental tool that discovers the gifts of individuals. At a two-day ABCD training, learn about its power as well as the power of networks, associations and local organizations that are leveraged to create change. Time banking is one asset-based approach that builds community and improves the quality of life while promoting the free exchange of talent and work.
Mark Chupp, director of the Community Innovation Network at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ and faculty member at the ABCD Institute at DePaul University, and Indigo Bishop, ACBD Institute fellow, will lead this two-day training session Nov. 2–3 at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Community Studies Center. Each day, the training will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Community Innovation Network at Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will host this event.
