杏吧视频鈥檚 homecoming weekend officially kicks off today (Oct. 5) and continues through Sunday, Oct. 8, with a schedule full of events. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and families can join the celebration by participating in tours, attending lectures, getting involved in spirited events and more. Visit for a full list of events.

Event overviews

Student events

Homecoming kicked off for students last weekend with a 鈥淐WRU鈥檚 Greatest Hits鈥 theme. But as the official homecoming celebration gets underway, there will be plenty of other opportunities for students to get involved.

Milestones

In addition to the traditional homecoming events, the university community will , including the 125th anniversaries of the School of Dental Medicine and the School of Law. In addition, the LGBT community will mark 30 years of LGBT activism on campus and WRUW-FM 91.1 will celebrate the station鈥檚 50th anniversary.

Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity鈥檚 events

The Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity will host two events for homecoming this weekend: a Diversity Think Forum titled 鈥淒iversity, Health Equity and the Politics of Healthcare鈥 and the Trailblazer Project Unveiling Ceremony. The Diversity Think Forum will be held Friday, Oct. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Adelbert Hall鈥檚 Toepfer Room. The Trailblazer Project Unveiling Ceremony will honor six distinguished alumni of color. This event will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:30 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library.

Campus and Cleveland tours

Take in the campus and Cleveland with tours of the Dittrick Museum of Medical History, Sears think[box], campus and the Cleveland Museum of Art, as well as sightseeing around University Circle and the City of Cleveland aboard Lolly the Trolley.

Greek Life

The Order of Omega Greek Alumni Reception and Greek Sing will headline the Greek community鈥檚 offerings during homecoming. Delta Tau Delta, Theta Chi and Kappa Alpha Theta also will celebrate milestone years.

Kelvin Smith Library

Visit Kelvin Smith Library this weekend for networking opportunities, publishing insights and more. Recognize alumni authors at the Alumni Authors Showcase & Reception Friday Oct. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library鈥檚 O鈥橬eill Reading Room. Hear from Tom Bachtell (WRC 鈥80), caricaturist for The New Yorker, Saturday, Oct. 7 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the library鈥檚 O鈥橬eill Reading Room. See the reveal of the subjects of a portrait initiative aimed at showcasing the contributions of 杏吧视频 alumni of color and women at the Trailblazer Project Unveiling Ceremony Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:30 p.m. on the library鈥檚 first floor.

Blue Block Party

Thursday, Oct. 5 7 to 9 p.m. Toby鈥檚 Plaza Kick off homecoming weekend with this dynamic street festival, featuring food, entertainment, music and more. At the , the community can play outdoor games, visit Uptown establishments, listen to music by DJ Rachel Hunt (CWR 鈥12), meet with alumni and friends, and more. The event is free and open to all. Creative blue attire encouraged.

Homecoming Luncheon

Friday, Oct. 6 11:30 a.m. Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom Hear about the state of the university and recognize at the .

Homecoming parade

Saturday, Oct. 7 11 a.m. Join your friends and families to grab a spot along the parade route and show off your CWRU pride. The parade will proceed east on Bellflower, then turn left at Ford Road and head north to Juniper, where it will turn right and pass the Alumni House. From there, the parade will turn left onto E. 115th and end Nobby鈥檚 Ballpark the on E. 115th.

Spartan Tailgate

Satuday, Oct. 7 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Leutner Commons dining hall Grab a BBQ lunch before heading to the football game. There also will be temporary tattoos, a photo booth and more.

Football game

Saturday, Oct. 7 1 p.m. DiSanto Field Cheer on the Spartans (4-0, 3-0 PAC, 0-0 UAA) as they take on the Bethany College (0-5, 0-3 PAC) for this year鈥檚 homecoming football game. At halftime, this year鈥檚 Spartan Club Hall of Fame inductees will be honored.
