In acknowledgement of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on Nov. 25, there will be two events held at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, in the Tinkham Veale University Center, Suite 248.
The two events are:
- On Monday, Nov. 24, 6-8 p.m., attend a screening of the film Senorita Extraviada, a harrowing portrayal of the rape and murder of more than 250 women in a Mexican border town.
- On Tuesday, Nov. 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., join a lunchtime panel discussion moderated by Hiram Cortez, president of La Alianza. Panelists include: John Flores, assistant professor of history; Imelda Mahmutaj, CWRU graduate student; Veronica Dahlberg, executive director of Hispanas Organizadas de Lake y Ashtabula (HOLA); and Courtney Robinson, prevention specialist at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
