The Guardian: Sue Helper, the Frank Tracy Carlton Professor of Economics at Weatherhead School of Management, cautioned that Trump’s tariff policies won’t spur lasting investment and could cripple the auto industry. “Trump’s policies are setting the auto industry up to be an island of backwardness,” she said, warning the U.S. risks clinging to gas-guzzling trucks while falling behind in EVs.
