CWRU Tinkham Veale University Center Ballroom
On Saturday, October 25th at 6pm, the Social Justice Institute at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ hosted Social Justice in the Arts in the Tinkham Veale Center ballroom. We were excited to create a space of connection, education, and inspiration with an evening of artistic expressions.
Our event presented a powerful opportunity for us to dine and enjoy jazz by the band Freedom First featuring and Albert Marquès. Keith is a brilliant intellectual and thought-leader who teaches high school and college students on a host of topics. He’s a painter, spoken word artist, and author. Keith is also an innocent man confined for the last thirty years and counting to death row at the Ohio State Penitentiary. More information about Keith can be found through his , this , his book , and this . The stakes could not be any higher.
We encourage folks to make donations to Keith LaMar's legal fund which can be found .
This event was co-sponsored by the CWRU Local Government and Community Relations Office, the Nathan Wisneski Fund, Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence, Social Justice Law Center at Case School of Law, Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, and the NAACP Cleveland Branch Prison Committee.
