Associate Professor Laura Bruckman has been appointed to the Climo Professorship.

Sylvie Crowell, a master's student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was selected as one of the two 2024 Henry DeWitt Smith Scholars by the AIME.

The Office of Energy and Sustainability recently honored faculty, staff and students who excel at making the university and greater community a greener place to live and work with Sustainability Champion awards. 

The CWRU team led by Professor Xiong (Bill) Yu received the first prize in the 2024 Intelligent Water System challenge competition organized by Water Research Foundation and Water Environmental Federation.

Yidan Gao and Yushu Cheng, both advised by Dr. Huichun (Judy) Zhang, have both received a 2023/2024 ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry C. Ellen Gonter Award.

Growing up, Zach J. Patterson had a number of engineering role models in his life, most notably, his grandfather. Paired with an interest in math and science, pursuing a career in engineering made complete sense.

After bringing home first place in the Ohio Water Environment Association Design Competition, a student team traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana, to compete at the national level in October.

Sarah Berger, fourth-year civil engineering student, recently earned second place in a national structural engineering competition hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at their Forensic Engineering Congress in Seattle, Washington.
